LEICESTER, NY, December 13, 2002 - CPAC, Inc. (Nasdaq: CPAK) announces that its ColorPAC XLSTM chemistry for developing photographic paper, which was introduced worldwide by CPAC Imaging earlier this year, has been voted the top chemistry product of the year by readers of a leading U.S. photographic trade journal, Photographic Processing.

This is the second year that Photographic Processing has sponsored the Reader's Choice Top Products Awards, but the first year in which a category for Chemistry was included. Readers were asked to identify products that had the greatest positive impact on their businesses.

ColorPAC XLS is used in Fuji FrontierTM digital minilabs (the equipment used to process film and paper) as an alternative to the proprietary Fuji product. It includes CPAC's patented super-concentrated 'single-part' liquid developing chemistries, which provide significant customer benefits such as simplified mixing, reduced shipping costs, and no HazMat shipping fees.

According to Steven E. Baune, President of CPAC Imaging, Worldwide, "CPAC's innovate chemistry formulations and packaging solutions have been at the leading edge of traditional photographic processes since we entered the chemistry business in 1984. Given that CPAC Imaging competes globally with recognized companies like Kodak, Fuji-Hunt, and Agfa, this recognition by our customers is indeed gratifying. All CPAC Imaging employees that work to invent, mix, package, distribute, sell, market, and provide customer service for our products deserve credit for this prestigious honor."

The ColorPAC XLS Kit contains balanced quantities of RA-XLS Developer and Bleach-Fix A/B concentrates, processing 113 m2 (1,216 ft.2) of color paper. The CPAC Imaging R&D; team has fine-tuned its original RA formulations to meet the special requirements of digital printing.

ColorPAC formulas are exceptionally clean running and maintain premium CPAC performance. CPAC's D-ChemTM digital formulations produce the deep blacks, pure whites and brighter colors needed to enhance digital prints. The perfectly proportioned kit simplifies ordering and inventory control and XLS ships without HAZMAT fees, yielding a lower delivered cost.

ColorPAC XLS is available directly from leading photographic products dealers. For more information, photo professionals can call 800-325-4404 or visit the CPAC Imaging web site at www.cpacimaging.com.
